Religion is NOT the issueI don't tell people I'm an atheist until they know me well. I believe that the idea of God is just a symptom of the past's want for answers, and isn't an oveall problem. But considering who I am and what my life is like, I still consider it ironic when people say something like "God bless you" to me.
Why would God want scum like me to be blessed over people who DO NOT have the resources I do? Why would HE bless one who doesn't believe he exists
The thing is, it's when the religious man prays to his God for my soul that makes me appreciate the human race- The fact that culture and borders divide us, but being human unites us. I've been prayed for by an Irishman- And that's a world away from Canada. I've been prayed for by local Tseshaht natives- And they too are a world of different from me. And I don't believe in either man's God, but I beieve the men who did had good intentions at heart. I'm very good friends with a Mormon, and she knows I'm an atheist. But what matters is the person,
